About the Tests

The Heavy Metal Urine Test (24 hr and Creatinine) measures urinary excretion of 20 toxic metals, including "classic" toxics such as lead, mercury, and arsenic, as well as newer technology toxics such as niobium.  This test should be implemented when only a focused evaluation of exposure to toxic metals is desired.

The Heavy Metal Urine Test With Nutrient Panel (24 hr and Creatinine) measures urinary excretion of 15 nutrient elements and 20 toxic metals.  This is an ideal test for patients suspected of toxic metal exposure as well as potential nutrient mineral wasting.

In addition to measuring classic elemental toxics, both profiles assess elements used in the medical, aerospace, nuclear, and high-tech electronic industries.  Use of these potential toxins is increasing because of their growing commercial, industrial, and medical applications.
